I’m far too excited (jittery? Nervous?) to blog properly today (sorry there is no psuedo-science friday today it’ll be back next week)
This is for 2 reasons.
Firstly, my Boy should be getting his degree result today… we have everything crossed for a good result, he should get it, he worked flipping hard for it. Come on baby – you can do it!
Secondly, this weekend is the second girl blogger/tweet up, this time in my home city of Edinburgh. Although we are of depleted numbers from the last one in Manchester (there are only 4 of the originals left) I’m so looking forward to showing them around my city and meeting the two newbies. Say hello to Pinkjellybaby, Oh the Decadence, Pollypoptart, SpiderPearl and UtterlyConfused plus hopefully It’s life Jim and of course me!
I wont be blogging obviously, but you can follow the madness on twitter ( @miss_smidge )
Edinburgh – BRING IT ON!
I’ve something to tell you – I hate my cats. You might wonder why I hate this handsome boy and this gorgeous ball of fluff…
Look cute!
But I do, I really do.
But then again if you had to live with them then you wouldn’t want them either – as for the last 2 nights I have had less than 4 hours good sleep. The rest has been spent with huffy Boy huffing and puffing as first tomcat and then kitten wake him up by either
a) standing on his head,
b) whining in his face,
c) rattling the bedroom blind to wake us up to feed them,
d) rattling the bedroom blind to get out,
e) beating each other up, or
f) all at once.
I’m thinking SPCA (I give them plenty of money after all), gumtree or just giving them away to the highest bidder. Who still wants them?
*crickets*
I have developed the knack of sleeping through all of this, the boy, not so much… and that keeps me awake.
Actually, maybe I am better giving the Boy to the SPCA rather than the cats. Ahem. Anyone want him? He’s quite well trained….
*more crickets*
Plus, my cats must be the greediest animals on the planet. The day goes something like this.
5am – first whine for food, boy huffs. I fall back to sleep
5.45am – second whine for food. I get out of bed to shut them out of the room.
7am – kitten starts scratching door to get back in
7.30am – kitten starts scratching wall in toilet cupboard to get me out of bed to yell at her.
8am – I finally get out of bed to feed them.
9am – I leave for work, whining for more food has started again.
5.45pm – I get home from work, whining for food begins
5.46pm – cats are both fed, fighting ensues for 30mins and then its sleeping time.
8.30pm – small whines start
9pm – whining is getting louder
9.30pm – there is a cat on each arm of the sofa screaming to be fed.
10pm – cats finally get fed (too early and the morning session starts at 4.30am instead of 5)
= 1 large headache.
So, when Nutrecare offered me a voucher for their site in exchange for a review, I jumped at the chance.
(sorry readers, here comes the review bit, look, I don’t do them often)
Firstly I thought a cage would be a good idea, but i’m not an evil witch and i’m not sure the boy would quite fit in it. Then I thought cat nip, get them stoned – peace and quiet, but then I remembered that last time I fed cat nip to the kitten she spent an hour trying to lick my feet. My third choice was a cat flap – no more window rattling to get out, but if I had bought one, it would still be sitting in its box, because I have no idea how to fit the damn thing. Cat toys would just cause more chaos; I already find tiny toy mice in the strangest of places – there was one in my knicker drawer this morning.
So, I did the best thing I could and bought them food. It arrived 2 days later, on time, when their delivery company said it would – to the hour. As this is my main issue in buying things other than shoes online – the randomness of when it will actually turn up – Nutrecare I applaud your sensible use of a delivery company. So thanks to Nutrecare, I had peace and quiet for 3 days.
Unfortunately, the greedy buggers ate the food and now chaos is reigning supreme and the Boy is threatening that it’s him or the cats, so I beg you, any other suggestions?
P.s Nutrecare can also help out with wayward dogs and horses…and maybe boyfriends if you ask them nicely.
Welcome to another edition of Sunday Sundries… the question edition…
…this weekend was mostly spent drinking in the sunshine. Between the ciders, the wine and the beer there was a lot of drunken chat and more often than not the chat was about me – I’m not sure why I was so popular but people seemed to feel the need to tell me what I am like (quiet, intelligent, career driven, not inclined to small talk, don’t suffer fools gladly and I’m that I’m very observant). I pretty much agree with them all, although I am louder than I come across and I would doubt my actual intelligence and i’m certainly not career driven. How do you think people perceive you? Are they right?
…it seems my feet have changed shape (or size) since last year as my fall back Havaianas tore my feet to shreds, leading to me bleeding all the way home on Saturday. Attractive. Need new flip flops asap. What a shame! Can anyone recommend flip flops that don’t tear up your feet?
…the question of the weekend was – how much money would you like to win on the lottery without being greedy? Answers ranged from a measly 10 grand to my choice – 1 million – it would mean I could get a house, a car, a holiday, maybe have kids, pay off debts, give a rather large charity donation and look after my friends. How much would you like to win?
Time for the obligatory pictures….this time twith sunshine!

…and finally this coming weekend is the Girl Bloggers Meet up/Tweet up – this time in Edinburgh. So excited… What are you looking forward to this weekend?
