Do you ever get a shocking, overwhelming girl crush?
I did this morning.
I’m not sure if it was the fact she had a high powered job (normally I find this intimidating, today I just found it impressive) or that she had hair just how I want mine, or even the fact she was getting away with wearing a beautiful abstract print dress that I’d never dare to wear, well not for work anyways.
Normally women intimidate me, but this one made me stumble over my words like a man meeting the woman of his dreams for the first time. I forgot to order her coffee, I forgot what we were there to talk about, I think I even drooled a little.
I found myself wondering “why can’t I be you??”
(Not out loud of course, that would be even more embarrassing than my very obvious “wooah!” reaction when I saw her)
It didn’t help that today I am dressed like a tramp, with a ladder in my tights and fluff on my dress. Oh. I have my charms, but with men who prefer a delightfully disorganised, tomboyish in a cute way kind of girl. I’m not really a girl’s girl and if I am honest, meeting such an amazing specimen like the girl this morning, It’s made me want to be.
Really want to be.
i get multiple girl crushes but usually on parts of people – like i want Louise’s hair and style!
How come I don’t? I hate them straight away and find it very consoling when I see cracks in their perfection: ladders in their tights, well-covered spots on their chins, lisp, wrinkle on their skirts… It makes me very mean, doesn’t it? Oh, well ;)
I’m honestly normally like this, but sometime you just come across a girl who lives up to all of the expectations you give your self. I kind of love her and hate her at the same time!
I’ve constantly got girl crushes – mainly because if I see someone looking all perfect, I wonder how the heck they do it. The minute I leave my flat my clothes somehow wrinkle themselves, my hair starts to curl/frizz and my make-up starts running. It is a total mystery how other women stop this from happening to themselves…
I’ve always got a girl crush.
And I love the term “ladder in my tights”!! We call them “runners” over here but I’m officially switching to ladders as of today.
